Lifeteen @ St. Ignatius is a Catholic youth organization dedicated
to bringing teens closer to Jesus
Christ. Our organization is part
of a larger National program . Prayer for our
Teens
Father,
Share the Word, Share the Fun - Bring a Friend! Let’s expand our Edge and LifeTeen programs! We want our youth to bring a friend to an Edge or LifeTeen night. Maybe you have a friend whose curious about our youth ministry program, maybe there’s someone new at your school, or maybe you know someone whose been away from the church for awhile -- this is a great opportunity introduce that friend to our youth ministry program. Plus, there will be awards given to those who bring a friend. Kudos Board!
KUDOS BOARD??
Have something good going on? Maybe you're starring
in a school play, in a musical performance,
on a sports team at school,
or maybe you just received an award....whatever
it is...we want to hear about it! We'll
post it on our Kudos Board so everyone knows
what you've accomplished. Give us the dates
of your play, concert or games. Who knows....perhaps
you'll see more "friendly faces" in the
audience supporting you. BITS AND PIECES Have You Heard? • When you sign in at Edge or LifeTeen events, you need to make sure your information is correct. Double-check the address, phone number and of course be sure we have your birthday. Otherwise, you won’t receive important mailings on events in the mail or be listed on our birthday list on the Web site or on the Youth Ministry bulletin board in the parish hall.

Please Follow the Rules Just a friendly reminder for LifeTeen youth. After LifeNights on Sunday nights, you are not allowed to get a ride home from another teenager WITHOUT permission. You must have your parent talk to Dee and give permission for you to ride in another car. This rule is not only to protect our teens but also our parish. Should an accident occur, and LifeTeen did not receive permission from your parent, the Youth Office, St. Ignatius and the Diocese could be in legal trouble. Please if you want a friend to drive you home, have your parent talk to Dee at the 5:30 p.m. Mass or on a cell phone. SPIRITUAL HOME AWAY FROM HOME FOR COLLEGE BOUND The office of Campus Ministry of the Diocese of Palm Beach, invites students to be part of the Catholic community on their campus. Campus Ministry provides the kind of student oriented liturgies, volunteer service opportunities, and social life that will enrich your college experience. Whether it is FAU, Lynn, PBA, PBCC, or even college out of state, contact us and we will help you make the connections you need. Go to www.diocesepb.org/campus or email the Director, Terence McCorry, Terence@diocesespb.org. Have a great semester! Concert News!

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES There are volunteer opportunities for EDGE
and Lifeteen youth at our church. Youth can always become Ushers, Eucharistic
Ministers, Altar Servers, and Lectors. Volunteer to set-up the room or
sort food for the SHARE Food Cooperative at St. Ignatius. SHARE is usually
the 3rd Saturday of the month. Beginning at 7 am till 10 am. LifeTeen
Core Member Dianne Laubert.
A.O.W.L. (A Work of Love) What does our A.W.O.L. community service do for
you? The LifeTeen Core Team has come up with a few ideas on a monthly
bases for you to be able to attain service hours and to be able to help
others at the same time. For Example: Last year we bagged 1000 pounds of
rice for Cross Ministries’ Food Pantries. Then we bagged 500 pounds of
oatmeal too! In October we collected small toiletries for the homeless
and shelters. And later the EDGE youth stuffed stockings
with the toiletries and candy for the homeless at John Prince Park. Speaking
of A.W.O.L…., our A.W.O.L. projects happen on the second Saturday of the
month from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. We meet on the patio or in the parish hall
and then do jobs around the church or at a designated place that is scheduled
ahead of time. We may be painting, cleaning, yard work or something else
like gleaning. (Gleaning: last year we picked corn for food pantries) If
interested, call the Youth Office at 622-2565.

November 23rd: If life seems to be moving by you, do you find it hard at times, “Doing Hard Things?” What makes you different than other teens? Come to this Life Night after the 5:30 Mass to see if you are making a difference. November 30th. NO Life night tonight enjoy your holiday weekend! December 7th: Let’s go to the Movies! What a great time to see a Holiday movie for this Life Night. Make sure you have a permission slip if you need a ride. See Dee before/after Mass for one. Sunday, December 14th: It’s the “BIG WHITE ELEPHANT” Celebration. This Life Night is going to take a couple of weeks to be ready for. It is a celebration of Christmas and a Service Project for a family this Christmas. We are asking teens to do a couple of things for this Life Night: (1) During the previous Life Nights, take the opportunity to pick an item for the family and bring the item to this Life Night, (2) also bring something new like a gift card or something old like an old toy or ugly piece of clothing – to give away. The more random the gifts, the better and (3) teens are to wear their best “worst Christmas outfit.” See you after Mass in the parish hall. Did you know? Permission slips for all our Youth activities are now available on-line! Click: Diocese of Palm Beach Activity Release Form to print our permission slips. We’re proud to announce this year’s Diocesan Youth
Council Members. They are: Stacy Bastien, Steven Calderon, Chris Garcia,
Tracy Graham, Alyssa Murphy, Caleb Trainor, Anne Zanotelli and Emma
Zanotelli. What is DYC? DYC are youth from our parish to represent YOU,
the youth or our parish within the parish and within the Diocese of Palm
Beach. They are teens you can bring ideas to about what you would like to
see our youth ministry get involved in as well as a voice for youth of our
parish. They are your peers and friends. Here’s a hint: the members read
the announcements at the end of each 5:30 Mass on Sunday. Don’t hesitate
to question them about how they are serving the community and how you can
get involved here at your parish.
The National Catholic Youth ConferenceThe National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC)
is an exciting, biennial three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment
for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones.
The schedule includes general sessions and workshops addressing
a wide variety of topics as well as opportunities for reconciliation,
daily liturgy, and special activities such as concerts,
a dance, and comedy club. The thematic park is a unique
venue incorporating traditional exhibits with interactive educational
and recreational activities. NCYC began in 1983 following
in the footsteps of its predecessor conference, the CYO biennial
national convention. In its early days, NCYC was held regionally,
one session for each coast. Combined attendance at the regional
conferences was a few thousand. In 1991, the two conferences merged
into one national event. In the mid 1990s interest in NCYC began
to increase. Today, NCYC draws 20,000 + youth and adults for three
days of catechesis, prayer, service, and recreation.www.nfcym.org
